The 42nd Freedom Festival is currently taking place in downtown Cedar Rapids. The events began on June 26th and will end with the 4th of July celebration on Friday. The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is a nonprofit organization that has been hosting family friendly events for over 40 years with the goal of bringing the community together. The event has so far featured the Jump for Freedom Dock Dogs Show, a Drone Show, a cardboard boat race, the Freedom Bike Ride, The Freedom Kids Bike Ride, food vendors, rides from H&H Fun Rides, and a concert headlined by the Schmidt Brothers Band.
The Egli family from Cedar Rapids plays with the clay provided by the Iowa Ceramics Center. The Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio is based in Cedar Rapids, and is operated by Iowa Artworks Inc.
The Pink Slips Band from the Rock Academy of Eastern Iowa performs during the Freedom Festival. The Rock Academy of Eastern Iowa is a Branch of the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy.

The annual Freedom Festival Parade took place in downtown Cedar Rapids at 4:00PM. The Freedom Festival’s 4th of July celebration will take place on Friday July 4th. The event will feature Yoga on Mays Island, a pancake breakfast at Veterans Memorial Building, a car show, kids activities, food trucks, music by Dalles Jacobus, and a fireworks show.
