Henhouse Prowlers Concert At CSPS Hall
CSPS Hosts A World Traveling Quartet
CSPS (Czech and Slovak Prudential Society) Hall hosted the Henhouse Prowlers on Saturday November 22nd at 7:00PM. The Henhouse Prowlers are a Chicago based quartet that has toured in 31 different countries on five of the seven continents. The band members agreed that the show in downtown Cedar Rapids had been their best in Iowa, and stated that they look forward to returning. The band got started when several of it’s members started playing at a dive bar in North Chicago in 2004.

Guitar Player Chris Dollar joined the band in 2017, and is the newest member of the Henhouse Prowlers. Dollar has been playing guitar for the last twenty years.

CSPS volunteer Carrie Engberg works the bar during the Henhouse Prowlers concert at CSPS Hall. This was Engberg’s third event working as a CSPS volunteer. CSPS began in the 1980’s as an independent performance art company helmed by Mel Adringa and F John Herbert.

Since moving into the historic CSPS Hall in Cedar Rapids in 1991 the Czech and Slovak Prudential Society has hosted musicians such as John Fahey, Joan Baez and Odetta. They have also shown the gallery works of artists such as Yoko Ono, and Andres Serrano.
The Henhouse Prowlers Banjo Player Ben Wright signs a record for a fan after their performance at CSPS Hall on Saturday November 22nd. CSPS holds many concerts throughout the year, and will be hosting the Claudettes on Friday December 12th next.

CSPS Hall will also be hosting an Improv night every Monday called Monday Unscripted, RHCR’s Christmas Cabaret: Christmas at the Movies Friday December fifth to Sunday December 7th at 7:30PM & 2PM, a Mid-Week Film Club December 17th at 7:00PM, and several more concerts before the end of the year.
