Made in Iowa Winter Market
A Chance For Local Artists and Vendors to Sell Their Products in January
The second annual Made in Iowa Winter Market was held at Hawkeye Downs on Saturday January 31st (9:00AM-3:00PM) and Sunday February 1st from (10:00AM-4:00PM). The event was hosted by the event production company Made in Iowa and featured over 150 local vendors including artisans, bakers, crafters, and authors. Made in Iowa got it’s start in 2024 with the Marion winter market in 2024, and now hosts events at Hawkeye Downs, and at the Marion American Legion.
A couple of Earrings are displayed for sale by Lil Buggies owner Ann Marie McNamara. McNamara, who has been in business since 2023, makes the Earrings using Polymer Clay.
Sabrina Tyler and her Niece June Tyler (both from Cedar Rapids) look at some of the jewelry available for sale by Art 101. Art 101 is based in Knoxville Iowa, and is owned by Frank Mathias who has been in business for the last 15 years. Mathias made the switch from selling clay sculptures to selling 3D printed sculptures six years ago.
Cake and Bake owner Jennifer Rud takes a look at some of the books available for sale at the Embodying Elysium section. Embodying Elysium is based in Marion.

Author and Ciba Award Finalist Rebecca M Krogman has books from her Keepers of The Midgate series on display at the winter market at Hawkeye Downs on Sunday February 1st. Krogman has been writing for the last five years, and works as a freshwater fisheries biologist full-time.
Diane Jensen looks to purchase a bottle of wine from Brickyard Wines while attending the winter market at Hawkeye Downs on Sunday February 1st. Brickyard Wines is owned by Chuck and Marsha Brainard (who started the business four years ago), and is based in Clermont Iowa.
Co-Owner of Tubby Tactical Anne Middleton takes inventory at the end of the Made in Iowa Winter Market on Sunday February 1st. Middleton who owns the business (which is based in Leroy Minnesota) with her husband Jim Middleton sold over 25% of their inventory during the Market on Saturday January 31st and February 1st.
